Brandy Gordon grew up in Florence, graduated from Florence High School, then moved to the reservoir area with her family; she proudly claims, “I am a Rankin County girl.” Brandy and her husband Steve met while attending Mississippi State and have been married for twenty-six years. Steve is also working to grow a Rankin County business as a chief officer at Zavation Medical Products in Flowood. They have two children, Katie and Charlie, who are both currently attending Mississippi State and plan to pursue engineering. Brandy is an insurance agent at The Insurance Center in Flowood, where she helps customers with their personal and commercial insurance needs. The Insurance Center is an independent agency that has access to the leading insurance companies for home, auto, and commercial insurances. Brandy and her brother, Tyler Brown, are business partners and pride themselves on carrying on the legacy that their father, Hal Brown, started when he opened his insurance agency in 1989. After he retired from being a captive agent, Brandy and Tyler decided to take the family agency in another direction. They knew that having access to many companies would provide the greatest benefits their customers. “I have learned how to be successful in this business by leaning on my father’s advice about honesty, which he always believed to be an important trait in a professional insurance agent,” Brandy says. She recalls watching her father tell customers that what he had to offer was not what they needed at the time and remembers him telling her, “Brandy, they will come back to us when the time is right.” Now, she has seen that belief hold true over the years and says, “We are always honest with our customers and strive to give them the best advice possible. Our job in the insurance industry is to help our clients protect their possessions, businesses, and most of all, their families.” Read more about Brandy Gordon in our latest September issue!
